Abstract

This study uses the Method of Class Action Research, which consists of four stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection in each cycle and consists of three cycles. The subjects in this study are students of the XII grade IPA 3 Private Catholic High School Sibolga Teaching Year 2020/2021, which totaled 35 students, consisting of 22 female students and 13 male students. This research data is obtained through observation by researchers and teachers during the learning process. The data is the result of the study of chemistry on the chemical material of the elements obtained by students through a sheet of observation that covers cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Data analysis in this study uses descriptive analysis using presentation techniques to see trends that occur in learning activities. The results of the research showed that the jigsaw method could improve the learning outcomes on chemical elements chemistry in class XII IPA 3 in Sibolga Catholic Private High School, where the study outcome in cycle I was 57.14%, or 20 students; in cycle II, it was 71.43%, or 25 students; and at the end of cycle III, it was 85.71%, or 30 students.
