Analisis Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Pada Materi Elastisitas dan Hukum Hooke di SMAS Dharmawangsa Medan
Abstract
Critical thinking skills are one of the competencies that students must have in 21st-century learning. The study aims to analyse the profile of critical thinking skills of SMAS Dharmawangsa Medan students in the 2022–2023 academic year on material elasticity and Hooke law. The sample of this research used two classes: a small class consisting of 10 students of XI grade IPA and a large class consisting of 40 students of 11 grade IPA SMAS Dharmawangsa Medan with different cognitive levels. The test used is a test in the form of descriptions developed based on critical thinking skills indicators, according to Facione. The method used in this research is a qualitative-descriptive method. The results of the analysis showed that the average percentage of students' critical thinking skills on material elasticity and Hooke law in SMAS Dharmawangsa Medan in small classes was 59% with very few categories, and in large classes it was 64.10% with fewer categories. Based on this analysis, better training is needed to improve students' critical thinking skills, especially on the material of elasticity and Hooke law.
